Nothing Is Impossible!

I have always considered myself as a weak student when it comes to studies. As competitive as I can be with other students, I always end up getting average results. Looking at my O-levels results, I concluded myself as a weak student because the results didn't satisfy my parents and yes my siblings scored way better than me.

Then the topic of what I am going to do with my life came about and all of me know that I am just not ready to venture the outside world. Just not yet. So I chose STPM which is a pre-U by the government so I can still go to school and continue being a school student. At least I will have 2 years now to decide what to do with my life. But STPM comes with a price. it's one of the world's hardest exam and that's the reason why it is world recognized. Me as an average student, how am I supposed to pull it off? Many advised me not to take it but I took it as a last chance to prove myself.

As a first step, I rejected the science stream they offered me and I took arts stream instead. I'm done with science for good but even though I took a safe choice by entering arts stream, my results for first semester's trial was still bad. Out of 4, I failed in 3 subjects and passed only 1 subject.

Of course, fear overtook me and I was giving up again. But this one incident changed my life. My business teacher met me before my first-semester exam and she held my hand and asked me to score. She added that she believe that I can do it. Yes, I passed that paper but I didn't excel like what she asked me to. After that, everything that happened is like magic to me now.

Long story short, I was first among all the arts stream students for the third semester and for the overall final result, I became one of the top students and I was the best student for the business paper. Until now, I can't believe that it happened but yes it happened. So ladies! If you think things will always be constant then you're wrong. You will never be at the same stage as you're now. With a little bit of encouragement and a lot of hard work, you can make anything possible!

  12. This is why self belief is so important. I think a lot of people have issues when it comes to self confidence and it seriously impacts their ability to perform. I'm glad that your tutor's encouragement made all the difference.
