Nasi Lemak Bamboo Is Now In Town at Azfar Restaurant, Bandar Menjalara!

Back with another Bamboo edition and this time it is Nasi Lemak Bamboo! It is not just mere Nasi Lemak served in Bamboo. They actually cook the entire thing in the
bamboo to add more flavours to the Nasi Lemak.

Nasi Lemak Bamboo
The rice might look overcooked but it is the reason why the rice tastes extra delicious than the usual. They steam all of the ingredients together before they serve to the customers.

While they wanted to break a barrier by situating a Malay Restaurant in an area where you can hardly find a Malay restaurant and cater affordable food to the students around; they accidentally found this Nasi Lemak Bamboo in one of their tryouts which became their best dish in town.

Seema a mother of 1-year-old kid and Riduan are jumbling both their career and also their passion to succeed in this new ventures of theirs.

While having to go through lots of difficulties like earning only RM100.00 a day in their first month of opening, here they are standing strong with their signature dish the Nasi Lemak Bamboo.

What makes them strong is that this entire effort to build Azfar Restaurant is not for money but it is for the sake of their son. They just want a secured life for their son in future hence they don't mind going through these difficulties now. Of course, they are not ready to give up anytime soon as well.

Nasi Lemak Bamboo
It was the irresistible aroma which watered most of our mouth when they served us the Nasi Lemak Bamboo on our plate.

When they pulled the Nasi Lemak out, there falls messily the pandan aroma filled coconut rice, specially made with secret ingredient rendang ayam, sambal nasi lemak and 1 egg.

While the rendang ayam's ingredient is kept as a secret, they did reveal that the chicken used is Ayam Kampung. We were shocked as usually Ayam Kampung's meat is hard but the chicken served in Nasi Lemak Bamboo were tender.

For a moment nobody actually bothered about how a dish should be garnished before they are served to customers. All we wanted was to dig in as it was that mouthwatering.

The rice was overcooked as it was steamed for the extra flavour from the bamboo. It was extremely delicious as they used an equal amount of rice to coconut milk so the rice will taste better. Pandan is used to make the rice green in colour.

Nasi Lemak Bamboo
The rendang ayam mixed with the nasi lemak sambal along with the coconut milk drenched cooked rice made the Nasi Lemak Bamboo be one of my most favourite meals by far.

Now they are serving daily from Monday to Saturday from 6pm at G1, Plaza Manjalara, No.1 Jalan Menjalara Idaman, Bandar Menjalara, Kepong, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 52200.

It is best to call them and fix an appointment so you can avoid the disappointment of waiting. As each Nasi Lemak Bamboo is prepared separately and it takes some time.

Also, none of the remaining food is served the next day to control the quality. They will give away the unsold balance to homeless people or orphanage at the end of the day.

Other than Nasi Lemak Bamboo, they also serve Kari Kepala Ikan where the curry, 1 piece of chicken and vegetable will be RM4.00. Their sole idea is to provide affordable food for students and others.
