4 Types of Crowd You Have to Endure!

Being a teenager or for someone who is entering early adulthood, there will be 4 types of a crowd that you have to endure in your lifetime.

1. Your nigga's

These are the type of people who know how terrible and how gem of a person you are. With this crowd, you can be you. You can be crazy. Nobody is going to judge you or be judgmental cause they are as crazy as you are.

2. Working colleagues

With this type of crowd you can mingle around and be you but you have to be "the decent you". In another way of saying this "be the professional you" as you don't want to spoil your image or be seen as someone who is not serious. They are not as understanding as your niggas. Of course, you can still chill and make jokes but it's better to show your best self when you're in this crowd.

3. The serious crowd

With this crowd, you either talk less or you talk nothing at all. The lesser your voice is being heard the better if you're the person who doesn't know how to hold a professional conversation well. They, of course, would love to hear your opinion but make sure that you are up to par and you know your stuff when you're with this type of crowd.

Even if you don't know how to hold the conversation well, be very open to learning. I'm sure most professional wouldn't mind teaching a stuff or two. Personally, I prefer listening when I'm with this type of group as I believe that I can learn unimaginably a lot by just being part of their conversations. Usually, this happens when you're being with a group of intellectuals or with a group of experts.

4. The corrupted crowd

Say nothing at all. Try disappearing from the group if that's possible. This is for the crowd who has no better work but to gossip and tarnish other people's name. I personally have encountered this type of crowd twice in my lifetime and I hope I will never ever see their faces again. Don't waste your time taking in the negative vibes when you can do beneficial stuff like "eating" for instance. *I prefer food if compared to negative vibes.

Linola, good news for rough, dry, cracked and sensitive skin

I was invited for Linola Product Launch. I was rather excited because of
today, Linola is the No.1 preferred medical skin care by paediatricians in Germany. To have it in Malaysia is definitely a great news!

Let me introduce a little on Linola's wonder background.

Linola is a well-loved pharmaceutical skincare range developed by Dr. August Wolff in Germany since 1957 and has continually gone through countless research and development exercises over the decades.

“In 1905, the chemist and pharmacist Dr. August Wolff founded his own company in Bielefeld, Germany, and invented a number of medical products. Dr. Kurt Wolff joined his father in the company in 1937. His first product innovation resulted in preparations containing linoleic acid. He researched this field for many years. It was well known even back in the days of Dr. August Wolff that the body must be supplied with linoleic acid, just like it has to be provided with vitamins from food to stay healthy. Yet the question remained: Would it be possible to use a cream with linoleic acid to get rid of skin damage that is caused by a lack of linoleic acid? This would directly aid skin regeneration! This idea resulted in a formulation created in 1938 that is now widely known. Its inventor gave it the obvious name of “Linola” - the one with linoleic acid. This active substance is partly responsible for keeping the outermost skin layer sealed from the inside so that not too much moisture can escape.”

Linola is heaven-sent for chronic and acute atopic eczema sufferers, as it not only helps with the healing but also with soothing the itchiness and inflammation that comes with the condition. It can also help to improve specific skin problems such as dry, itchy scalp, psoriasis and chafing.

Linola Lotion, formulated with essential linoleic acids is developed especially for all forms of dry and stressed skin. It contains linoleic acid rich vegetable oil and is free from harmful mineral oils and silicones. This Lotion is most suitable for very dry skin as well as eczema sufferers. Its No.1 standing in Germany under the best supportive medical care category for all types of dry skin for two years consecutively (2012 and 2013) is a testimony of the product's efficacy.

Happy Birthday Althea!

It was Althea's Birthday and I pampered myself with lots of gifts! Guess what I got from Althea? A-Z makeup product for a simple makeover. I did a video using all the products I have gotten from Althea. I did not get any lipstick from Althea as I already had a few shades which I am already going crazy for now so I didn't want to add to it.

First starting off with face protection which is a sun burn cream. One reason why we age fast is our skin is getting exposed to sunlight too often. So in order to prevent that it is important to protect our skin with a good sun burn cream.

Clean Face Oil Control SunCream SPF 35 PA++
Next is a foundation in a powder form to close the pores and hide all of my flaws. I like this as it is easy to apply and I look a little bright instantly and I don't look whitish.

Saemmul Perfect Pore Pact
Next is eyebrow! I love working on my eyebrow so much that even if I plan not to wear a makeup but I will still draw my eyebrow. I look instantly good whenever I work on my eyebrow. The one I purchased is dark brown and it is so easy to wear. The brush at the other end can clear up all the mess I do so I really can draw as I like. It cost about RM12.00 only.

Easy Drawing Eyebrow Pencil
Then, I usually work on my eyebrow. For this, I got a gel eyeliner. As said by people it really lasts long and it is so easy to apply. Unlike other gel, this is really easy to be used and I can even apply it as a thin layer. It cost about RM25.00.

 Tony Moly
Backgel Eye Liner

Next is my favourite which is eyelashes. This mascara is rather different because it is 4D mascara. It is thick and really dark. Whenever I apply it, it is rather obvious and it is very appealing. It cost about RM16.00.

 MisshaThe Style 4D Mascara

Finally coming to a brand new product which I newly added to the makeup family. Contour! I have not tried any type of contour before. This one here is rather easy to be used and I totally love it. I am using the darker version and it has 2 version. My new favourite and it looks amazing on my face as it enhances my cheek bone.

                                AMOKContouring Master
Finally, I used Rimmel lipstick from London. I did not get this from Althea but since I did not get any lipstick fro Althea so I am using Rimmel instead. I will be doing a special review for Rimmel soon.

Pika Pika Sparkling Bright is Now Available in Watsons!

So this is not a new news as I have been screaming this out loud in my Instagram feed and my Instagram story. Thank you for the 1,059 views on my video where I removed my make up at Pika Pika event. *That's totally unexpected.

I promised that I will introduce this amazing which is, to be honest, it is my current favourite product. I was searching for a good makeup remover and Pika Pika Sparkling Bright Fruity Cleansing Liquid was one of the best make up remover that I have ever used for now.

Pika Pika Sparkling Bright Fruity contains natural fruit extract, AHA and BHA. It helps to dissolve dead skin and impurities in clogged pores. It easily removes makeup even in the shower. Plus point will be for those who are wearing water proof make up. I usually hunt for makeup remover so I can remove waterproof makeup easily and Pika Pika Sparkling Bright Fruity works wonder. It is being sold in Watson for RM79.00 and it is in the size of 190 ml.

I am also using Pika Pika Sparkling Bright Peel Off Mask. It helps to purify dead skin and absorbs excess oil. It contains ARBUTIN to help inhibit dark spots, freckle and also it prevents skin ageing. It works wonder to revive dull skin. I use this one week once as an escapism from life and to just relax. It is being sold in Watson for RM49.00 and it is in the size of 80 g.

Another product of Pika Pika Sparkling will be Hot and Cool Cleansing Gel. I personally have not tried this type of product before. When I experienced it for the first time it was rather new. It has a thermal effect which helps to enlarge pores for removing blackheads and pores. Menthol helps to soothe the skin and shrink pores. It helps to purify dead skin and absorbs excess oil. One cool advantage of using this is it helps to cleanse and to repair the skin as well! It is being sold in Watson for RM39.00 and it is in the size of 35 g.

It was one fun event which I attended with the other butterflies. We had "No Mirror Make up Challenge" where we were required to apply makeup without any help from a mirror. The struggle is real! Thank you so much, Tammy, for the invitation. Looking forward to attending more butterfly's events. The venue of the event was at Foret Blanc and I personally liked their desserts as well.

5 Reasons Why You Should Watch Serial Pei 2.0!

The number 1 Tamil radio station in Malaysia, THR Raaga, has produced 15-episodes of the most anticipated Serial Pei 2.0 drama. It will be premiered on the official website and Facebook page of THR Raaga, weekdays, at 12 pm.

Serial Pei Season 1 created waves on social media in 2016, garnering stellar reviews for the 11-episodes of this comedy-horror-drama production. Serial Pei Season 1 hit over 2.6 million views on Thr Raaga’s social media

Serial Pei 2.0 is directed by Rani Sundarajoo and it is starred by popular THR Raaga announcers, Ananthaa, Uthaya, Raam, Revathy, Suresh, Kavimaaran, Geetha, Ahila, Shalu, Yashini and Jay.

Here are 5 Reasons Why You Should Watch Serial Pei!

1. Humour in Horror

If you're not the type who likes to watch a horror movie then no worries cause though certain scenes in Serial Pei induces fear but the very next moment you will be laughing out loud. Serial Pei is definitely a great combination of horror and humour.

2. Siblings Bond Shown Right!

We all know that most siblings live to annoy each other. They showed siblings bond beautifully in Serial Pei 1. Though the siblings, Hema and Arvin always fight but implicitly they showed beautifully how much Arvin cares about Hema. That's how most siblings' relationship work. Though they fight like dogs and cats they can never stay away from each other.

3. Most Scenes are Relatable

Even though Serial Pei is a story based on a family who moves into a new house where mysterious occurrences begin to take place, most scenes are relatable to us. Moms who are an addict to serials to a point where they will forget the world, the secret love of Arvin and Nita (because most couples prefer to keep their relationship secret from their family members), and not to forget the creepy and nosy neighbour who always noses into other people’s business.

4. Every Episode Ends With a Suspense

Every episode will end after giving you either goosebumps or the urge to know what happened next. Just a typical serial I suppose but to do that within 5 minutes is rather brilliant. Some might even want to sit in front of their devices sharp 12.00 pm just to watch Serial Pei's continuation. That's how every ending of each serial got people; they go haywire due to the suspense in the end.

5. You can Entitle Yourself to Win RM300

Lifting the Burden of GERD

What makes life worth living? Ask any Malaysian and they would probably have “enjoying food” on their list. Food plays a major role in our lives. It is a daily conversation topic, a compass to plan social events, a display of love, a cause for competition, and a source of adventure.

However, the inability to enjoy food is a reality for those suffering a specific tummy affliction which has been sweeping the nation. This was what happened to Raymond. With a thriving career, Raymond was at his peak. Unfortunately, his tummy got in the way.

Raymond experienced heartburn years back but the symptoms would go away with a gulp of antacids. In the last year, however, Raymond would have great discomfort especially after eating. He would feel the food coming back up and a sour taste in his mouth.

Not just that, there was gas and bloating too. Each day was a struggle as he would feel tired, not being able to sleep well at night because of the reflux. Tests at the hospital finally showed that Raymond was experiencing a chronic form of heartburn called gastroesophageal reflux disease or GERD for short.

Understanding GERD

When we eat something, the food travels down a tube called the oesophagus into the stomach. At the bottom of the oesophagus, before the opening to the stomach lies a circular tube of muscle known as the lower oesophagal sphincter (LES). When the LES becomes damaged or weakened, it fails to close all the way, causing the acidic contents of the stomach to move back up (reflux) into the oesophagus. Stomach acid has a pH close to battery acid. When this acid contacts the oesophagus and sometimes rises up into the mouth, damage and pain ensue.

Acid reflux causes a burning pain in the chest commonly known as heartburn. When acid reflux symptoms happen more than twice a week or are accompanied by difficulty in breathing or swallowing, it could denote a more serious condition known as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). The prevalence of GERD has been found to be rising across Southeast Asia, numbers of which are up to 20% from data recorded after 2005.

Many people with acid reflux or GERD believe that their condition is caused by stress or from eating spicy or acidic food. While stress is not a cause, it is one of the factors that can aggravate GERD. Scientists have found that people are more sensitive to stomach acid when they are stressed. Besides stress, obesity is also another driving factor of GERD development.

As weight accumulates in the belly area, it creates pressure on the diaphragm and LES to cause further weakening of the LES muscles. With Malaysia ranked as the fattest nation in Asia, it is not surprising that more and more people are suffering GERD. Smoking is another risk factor for GERD as the nicotine in cigarettes cause a relaxing effect on the LES, hence allowing stomach acid to escape into the oesophagus.

GERD Development

In an event titled “Oh, My GERD” hosted by NuvaPineA®, a panel of experts came together to discuss the severity of the GERD epidemic, to help the public to recognise the signs and symptoms of GERD and more important to manage the condition successfully. The panel comprised Dr Raja Affendi Raja Ali, Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia; Dr Vagif Soultanov, a Gastroenterologist and Naturopathic Doctor from Melbourne, and Datin Swanee Teh, Pharmacist and Natural Therapies Advocate.

“GERD is a condition that worsens over time if left untreated,” stated Dr Affendi. “Because it’s a disease driven both by structural and lifestyle factors, patients need to take proactive steps to manage it well. Think of it this way, if you had a wound and did nothing about it, that wound will fester to cause greater harm. Similarly, GERD needs to be addressed.”

GERD has a significant negative impact on patients’ quality of life. Imagine being constantly stressed about what you should eat or not beside having to limit social dining engagements all in a bid not to trigger GERD symptoms. A 2003 study showed that GERD patients have a poorer quality of life in terms of mental health, social functioning and vitality when compared to the general population.

A separate study showed that having GERD decreased work productivity, even more than someone having a chronic condition like arthritis.  In effect, GERD affects the very core of those things human beings take the greatest pleasure in – food enjoyment, restful sleep, and meaningful work.

“Most people don’t expect the dramatic changes GERD makes in their lifestyles. GERD literally sucks all the fun out of life. According to clinical data, GERD can lead to anxiety and depression and vice versa. GERD also affects productivity and sleep which drains a person’s sense of purpose,” explained Dr Soultanov on the topic of how miserable it is living with the disease.

What does GERD look like?

Heartburn is one of the hallmark symptoms of acid reflux. The other symptoms of GERD include a sour-tasting fluid at the back of the throat (stomach acid has a sourish taste), difficulty swallowing or a sensation that something is stuck in the chest or throat, gas build-up, and excessive belching. Some patients may even experience a chronic dry cough or breathlessness, which is triggered by the acid reflux. Should the acid rise up further into the mouth, bad breath can develop as the acid kills off good bacteria in the mouth. Tooth decay is another consequence of acid damaging teeth and gums.

Is there a solution?

Conventionally, heartburn and GERD are treated with medications that control acid. Routinely, the use of acid-blocking drugs called proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) is initiated. Examples of PPI drugs include dexlansoprazole, pantoprazole, omeprazole, and esomeprazole. PPIs are potent stomach acid suppressants. They are popular choices to help patients deal with symptoms as they work fast.

However, the symptoms of GERD are sometimes impossible to control, even with the most powerful PPI drugs. Some studies have already demonstrated that up to 40% of patients with heartburn reported either a partial or complete lack of response to PPIs. Not just that, acid blockers are not meant to be used for the long-term because of adverse effects, the result of compromised digestion and immune protection when acid production is suppressed over time.

Current guidelines recommend that PPIs be used for only 4 - 6 weeks after which they should be withdrawn or stepped down to less-potent therapy.  In reality, however, patients continue their PPIs indefinitely as symptoms tend to recur.

Clinical Pine Therapy

GERD is not a simple condition to manage. As a naturopathic doctor as well as a researcher, Dr Soultanov was at hand to share the results from a recent clinical study done on a pine conifer green needle extract called Bioeffective® A and its effects on gastrointestinal health and GERD.

“We know that Bioeffective® A possesses cellular healing properties. In this study, we wanted to see the extent of its effects amongst patients with precancerous stomach conditions who were also experiencing GERD. The administration of Bioeffective® A resulted in a 92% improvement in dyspeptic symptoms (GERD), including improvement in symptoms such as gastritis, gas and bowel disorders. Not only that, patients also regained normality of stomach function besides a reversal in precancerous lesions,” shared Dr Soultanov.

“Instead of sitting around worrying more and more about GERD, Bioeffective® A as a natural medicine can offer patients added arsenal to deal better with their condition. By helping to strengthen damaged or weakened oesophagal valves, as well as to support the normalisation of digestive juices in the stomach, Bioeffective® A will help get you, your normal tummy back,” said Datin Swanee Teh.

The session was also attended by former Prime Minister Tun Dato’ Sri Haji Abdullah bin Haji Badawi who shared a few words on how Bioeffective® A has helped improve his health. “At this golden age, all I can hope for is to be as healthy as possible. I have been taking Bioeffective® A for almost 10 years now for my defences and anti-aging needs. It is a very safe natural medicine and my doctors will affirm that my tummy, liver and kidneys are all in excellent condition. I’m glad to have found such a safe and reliable friend in health,” he said.

Goodbye GERD

When one understands the crushing grip GERD has on the many things we enjoy in life, it’s difficult not to be disheartened. However, the combined knowledge from both mainstream and naturopathic medicine can now offer patients a more holistic way of managing their condition successfully.

Raymond discovered Bioeffective® An online after surfing the net one night when he couldn’t sleep. Raymond went on a dose of 320mg three times a day as advised by his pharmacist. Over the weeks, his GERD symptoms gradually improved. He noted how he was able to tolerate his foods so much better without those familiar gas and reflux symptoms. Raymond has arrived at a point where he can actually plan a “makan get-together” without a care in the world.

Bamboo Biryani Taste & See, Taman Rakyat, Klang Review

So my friend Shahnaz wanted to try Bamboo Biryani as it was all hyped up on the social media. As usual, we decided to hit it once we both are free.

The moment we were there I gasped. It looked like some kind of function was going on.

Apparently. that is how it usually looks like. Crowded and messy. The first thing I noticed was people were sitting and standing all over the place but there was no proper queue which we usually see in a hyped up place.

Bamboo Briyani Taste & See Review

Well, to those who want to eat there will have to sit under the tent where chairs were arranged or stand if you don't get a chair to sit. Or you also can choose to burn yourself under the sun if the crowd gets too large and you are kicked outside of the tent.

They had a queue but it was for those who want to take away.

So how should I know who came first and who came next and when is my turn?

Must I memorise everybody's face to know when is my turn? The queue wasn't arranged systematically and it was rather messy.

I was all surprised to see such a system going on but I waited patiently as I wanted to try their biryani real bad. The group who came after me got a place, ate and left already but I was still waiting for my turn. I got really pissed.

Bamboo Briyani Taste & See Review

I couldn't keep quiet so I politely told them I need a table for two. They literally ignored me and entertained those who are loud. Of course, the rowdy rangama (*a woman who is just angry) in me came out.

I went in front and told in a loud voice (but still polite) to the lady that,"I have been waiting for a long time, I need a table for two." Then finally I GOT HER ATTENTION! OMG! Must I really shout to get your attention?

The problem was not over. The waitress told, "Okay sure, I will get a place for you two" and another couple came and said we have been waiting for a long time too.

The waitress was resolving the issue and I waited patiently cause if this is going to be a fight I rather leave and tapau (take away) Anjappar Biryani. The price is almost the same anyhow.

Bamboo Briyani Taste & See Review

She somehow resolved it and brought Shahnaz and me to our seat. FINALLY! Another problem arose. We had to share a table with another couple. What is happening?

Am I getting the biryani for half price as well as I am sharing the table with another couple? I felt really uncomfortable to share the table with an unknown person.

So I get no privacy with my friend when I am at Bamboo Biryani? I endured it just for the sake that there were a lot of people waiting to be seated as well.

The curiosity to know if the biryani is up to the hype which others have created accelerated in me. The waitress who handled the food was running here and there and nobody came to our table to entertain us.

Bamboo Briyani Taste & See Review

We had to stop a guy who asked if we want fish biryani and make our order. We had already made our mind on mutton biryani as we heard that their mutton biryani are to die for.

Our biryani came and the first thing I tried was the mutton. OMG! It was seriously to die for! It was so soft and so tender.

I always avoid mutton as I hate it when it is too chewy. Their mutton was too good. I had a good decent amount of flesh and the bone was very little. The biryani rice was just okay for me.

The side dishes were served just one spoon each and I was not satisfied with it. The biryani came in a big portion and the side dishes looked really pathetic when it was served in a small amount.

Bamboo Briyani Taste & See Review

Couldn't really take a proper picture as I was already halfway eating and the side dish was served really late. They served onion with yoghurt mix, spicy ladies finger and curry.

Not to forget, my mutton biryani came without an EGG! I couldn't comprehend the fact that I had no egg with my biryani. I eat biryani with egg bro. Please.

When I ordered my drinks, another issue took place. Nobody came to our table to ask what we want to drink. We had to get a guy's attention to order our drinks.

They only serve 7 types of drinks and I could only remember 4 which was lemon ice, lemon ice tea, watermelon and mineral water. The exciting part was it came in a bamboo shoot.

To drink lemon ice in a bamboo shoot gave me a whole new level of experience.

Bamboo Briyani Taste & See Review

Overall, the place is only good for bamboo and biryani. The interior of the restaurant was not something to go awe for as it was really plain.

The customer service was good but messy at the same time.

Not a place where you can sit and chill for sure. I ate in a hurry and left in a hurry as it is a pain in the eye to see another soul waiting hungrily under the tent.

The restaurant has to expand or open a new branch. I will definitely not go to this place again though the mutton was to die for. I cannot bear queues which are not systematically arranged.

I will give it a rating of 5/10
